The Air Sweeper. The Air Sweepers use strong blasts of air to push back attacks from the air. They do no damage, and do not interfere with ground troops. That said, don’t be fooled into thinking that because they can’t damage your air attackers that they are harmless. They can really be devastating to an air attack, especially slower flying units.

Avoiding Air Sweepers is simple, attack from the other side.

So why am I even bothering to write this if it’s that straightforward? Thing is, if you aren’t careful when avoiding Air Sweepers, you could find yourself walking straight into a trap. Smart players will place Air Sweepers on their weak side to get you to attack their strong side. So then what?

Keep in mind that Air Sweepers blow your attack back in a 120 degree arc, using blasts of air that cover 30 degrees. Because of this, it’s not necessary to attack an Air Sweeper from the rear to avoid it, attacking from the sides can also be effective. Every setup has a weakness, the key is to find it so you can take advantage of it.

If you must take on an Air Sweeper head on, arrange your Air Troops in an arc so that one or more of your Air Troops might get through while the Air Sweeper is distracted by the others.

It goes without saying that as an Air Sweeper is upgraded, it gains power and will blow you back farther. So if you’re attacking higher bases, a head on attack can potentially end your raid before you even begin. Just because the Air Sweeper doesn’t do any actual damage doesn’t make it harmless.

One other thing to keep in mind, 3 star attackers are able to easily lure the enemy CC. This is particularly important to remember with a LavaLoon, because if you neglect the Lure, the enemy CC will be free to shoot down your Loons. Also, if you are using Minions to attack the enemy CC during your attack, they will follow the CC, potentially into the range of an Air Sweeper, where they may be blown into range of all kinds of defenses that can actually do damage. It’s even possible you could lose your Minions without having done any damage at all to the enemy CC.

Let’s talk a little bit about a new defensive building –
